District 17-4A
In:
Del Valle, Hays, Manor
On the bubble:
Elgin, Lehman, Lockhart
Make-or-break games:
Lehman at Hays, Del Valle at Elgin, Manor at Lockhart
The scenarios:
Lehman gets with a win; Elgin gets in with a win and a Lehman
loss. Lockhart qualifies with a win and an Elgin loss. Should
Lehman, Lockhart and Elgin, which are all 1-3 in district play,
all lose, Lehman would clinch its first playoff berth. If those
three teams all win, Lockhart would get the berth.

The ice-cold
drenching he received from his players at the conclusion of his
team's first-ever district win couldn't have felt any better for

Freshman
football drop tough game against Gonzales. See
highlights here.
9/25/2009
Your freshmen Lobo football team traveled
to Gonzales last night to play the Apaches.
Your Lobos came out aggressive against the
Apaches. Every yard was a struggle on both sides of the ball. By
halftime the Apaches were up 6-0. The Lobos countered in the third
quarter with a score of their own to go up 8-6, then fell behind
again with three minutes to play. Despite a flurry of scoring at
the end of the game your Lobos came up short 26-24. Bradley Braxton
led the pack with three touchdown grabs, and Cole Williams threw two
touchdown passes.
The freshmen want to wish the varsity good
luck as they take on Gonzales tonight at Shelton Stadium. See you
at the game!
It took half a game to get started, but come the
second half, no one could deny the Lobo presence. Our Lobos showed
the heart and guts it takes to recover fumbles in a dog pile, the skill
and concentration to make receptions and interceptions, and the
determination
and speed to break tackle after tackle. Time and time again, the
Lobos would not be denied getting into the end zone. Our Lobos
beat Riesel 24-6. You can get all the states here from the Statesman.com
