During the Spring Sports' Banquet, the Lobo Booster Club was proud to give the Lehman HS Athletic Department, headed by Coach Steve Davis, the largest check (literally) ever provided by the Lobo Club.  Through selling merchandise, manning the football parking, and running the athletic concession stands during the Fall and Spring seasons, the Lobo Club Board and members were able to earn the funds to issue 5 scholarships worth $1,000 each, and give the Athletic Department a check for ...$15,000.00!!!  Many, many thanks go out to the Lobo Club Board and our members for all their hard work.  It really paid off.

At the end of the night, the Lobo Club President, Ernest Garcia gave Coach Steve Davis the real check.

The Lobo Booster Club is proud to announce the recipients of our 2009 scholarships.

The Lobo Booster Club would like to extend our congratulations to these athletes,
and also wish them our best as they venture into their next level of education.

Torres' sacrifice leads to Lobos' mile-relay jaunt into regional meet.  It began as nothing more than a simple gesture to make it possible for two of his senior teammates to have a shot to run at the regional track meet...

2/14/2009 Men's Basketball defeat Elgin 45-41
Your men's varsity basketball team celebrated their last home game of the season in grand fashion, Friday night, as they defeated playoff bound Elgin by a score of 45-41.  Your Lobos were tremendously stingy on the defensive end the entire game.  The Lobos allowed Elgin to a measly 13 points through the first half, and Elgin only had 23 points after three quarters.  On the offensive end, your Lobos were dynamite.  Your Lobos built their lead to 13 points in the third quarter.  Things heated up in the fourth quarter as Elgin was able to hit some shots and eventually tie the Lobos at 40 late in the game.   Despite the late run by the Wildcats, your Lobos persevered with their undeniable determination and grit.

2/4/2009  Swim Team goes on to Regionals!
Saturday was a great day to be a Lobo Swimmer!  We competed in the Distrct 17-4A Swim Meet and while we lacked the numbers to come out as district champion, we brought home LOTS of hardware and placed well enough that most of our swimmers will be competing in our Regional Meet in Magnolia, Texas, next week, Feb 13 and 14.

2/4/2009 Girls soccer defeat Rebels 1-0
A big congratulations to the Girls JV soccer as they defeated the lady rebels 1-0.  This was a close game, 0-0 at the half but your Lady Lobos pressed on and got the only score of the night.  The assist came from Freshman Valerie Murillo while Haley Parsons put it in the Net to give us the lead.

Other highlights were the "Murillo Twins" Valerie and Brenda using the sideline alley to push the ball up and dominate hays defense.  Defenders Jennifer Percastegui and Moriah Gallegos helped Demi Castillo to shut out the Rebels.

2/4/2009 Boys basketball lose to Manor
Your men's varsity basketball team lost a tough one last night at the hands of the Manor Mustangs.  Your Lobos dropped the game 42-45.  After struggling through the first quarter where the score ended up being 7-2 in Manor's favor, your Lobos got back on track in the second quarter.

Your Lobos out scored the Mustangs by 4 points in the second half, but just could never get over the hump.

The coaching staff is very proud of the effort, heart, and desire displayed by the Lobos throughout the second half as they clawed themselves back into the game.

Your Lobo basketball teams are back in action on Friday as they travel to San Marcos to take on the Rattlers.

The JV boys soccer team Hays Rebels last night in district play.  Your Lobos came out defensive and held the Rebels scoreless through the first half.  As the second half began, your Lobos kept applying the defensive pressure on Hays but ultimately could not stop the Rebel attack.  Hays won, 2-0.

Your Lobos are now 6-3 overall and 1-2 in district play.

2/4/2009 Boys Varsity Soccer beats Hays
Your lobos did get their second district win of the year against a much improved Hays Rebels last night at Lobo Field.

It took a Rebel goal to ignite the Lobos behind goals from Juan Gordillo, Oscar Garcia, and Oscar Martinez. Cory Bergstrom played an exceptional game in the back and Oscar Martinez did a very good job of taking care of the middle of the field for the Lobos. Cristo! continued his fine form in the goal for the Lobos.

The boys travel to Canyon on Friday to battle for sole possession of 2nd place in the district.

Please congratulate your young men on a successful outing and their recent fine form.

    2/2/2009 Girls Soccer updates
I usually would not be happy with a 8 - 3 loss but we should all be proud of our girls for scoring 3 goals against the 5th ranked team in the state.  Dripping Springs threw everything including the kitchen sink at us.  Our girls took everything they had.  We might of lost by 5 goals but the three goals we scored on them were a victory in itself.  They wanted to "bury" us but we kept taking the shovel away.  Goals were scored by freshman Amara Smith; and Dominique Jaquez scored her 9th and 10th goal of the season.  Dominique also got her 4th assist of the season.  Goalkeeper Veronica Gonzalez got shot at all night and kept us in the game with 28 saves.

Come join us at Shelton Stadium tomorrow night as we face the Hays Rebels.

These girls did an outstanding job!  They competed against 18 other schools and came out 11th overall.  To say the least they had a great season!  First of all, to get to Regionals was an accomplishment, beating out many other schools in the 4A District was a challenge on its own.   Second, this is
the first time in Lehman's history that a girls team has attended a Regional meet!  We are starting new traditions at Lehman HS and CC intends to keep making history!

    11/03/2008 Lobos end Team Tennis
Despite a well played match, our tennis team lost in the first round of the regional tournament to Nederland 10-4.  The score does not reflect how tight a match it really was.  Several matches went to a third set, and if we win a tie-breaker here or there, the overall count would have been much different.

Our kids received several compliments by other coaches and parents.  It meant allot considering we have never seen those teams before.

Individually the following pulled out wins: Hunter Woodruff/ Randolph Gamez (doubles), Royce McCabe, Courtney Garza, and Desiree KittelJaime Garza and Randolph were up and on their way to wins in singles when we stopped play.
